Noa ist der absolute Knüller @ Sounds of Israel – Review (Kampnagel, Hamburg)

Gestern hat das Festival “Sounds of Israel” begonnen, was in Kooperation mit der Elbphilharmonie auf die Wege gebracht wurde. Der Start des Konzerts wurde durch das fulminante Konzert mit Noa und dem Hamburger Sinfonieorchester auf Kampnagel gemacht. Noa in Deutschland live erleben zu können, ist schon echt ein kultureller Knüller, aber dann auch noch dies mit Orchester und auch noch in Hamburg erleben zu können ist ein 6er im Lotto mit Jackpot. Ich bin definitiv ein Fan. Mit dem gestrigen Konzert habe ich auch Noa nun genauso oft live erlebt wie Tori Amos. Ich bin jedenfalls mit großen Erwartungen, zwei richtig tollen Freundinnen und gut gestärkt (dank tollen Essens im Inder des Vertrauens) dahin.

Noa auch bekannt unter dem Namen Achinoam Nini ist die wohl bekannteste israelische Sängerin außerhalb des israelischen Kosmosses. Sie ist die Tochter jemenitischer Einwanderer in dritter Generation. Sie zog als kleines Kind nach New York, wo sie von ihrer jemenitischen Großmutter betüdelt wurde. Als 17jährige ging sie zurück nach Israel. Spätestens nach dem Tod von Yizak Rabbin engagiert sich Noa offensiv und laut für die Friedensbewegung in Israel inklusive einer Zweistaatenregelung für Palästinenser.

Noas Konzert wurde übertitelt als “The Israeli Songbook”.

Dies ist auch der Titel ihrer aktuellen CD, die mit dem Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra und dem Dirigenten Ilach Mochiach, der auch die Hamburger Sinfoniker geleitet hat am gestrigen Abend, eingespielt wurde. Alle orchestralen Arrangements stammen aus seiner Feder.

Im “Israeli Songbook” wurden Lieder gesammelt, die symbolisch als Kanon für das Land Israel stehen sollen. Es sind Lieder, die entstanden in dem neu enstandenem Staat nach dem zweiten Weltkrieg. In den Liedern wird der ethnische Hintergrund der Zuwanderer, dem Lokalkolorit der nahöstlichen Ursprünge und natürlich auch der jüdischen Farben in der Musik veredelt mit den Texten, die Zuwanderer, Geflohene, Menschen mit Schicksalsschlägen, mit Hoffnungen und mit Zukunftsvisionen und mit Witz so entstehen ließen. Noa hat diesen israelischen Klassikern ihren eigenen Touch verliehen und dies in der ausverkauften Halle k6 auf Kampnagel mit ihren musikalischen Partnern Gil Dor (Gitarre und Gesang) und Gadi Seri (Percussions) aufgeführt.

In Hamburg auf Kampnagel wurde ein absolutes Einsteiger Konzert gespielt. Reichliche 100 Minuten Lebensfreude, musikalische Klasse auf höchstem Niveau, der gesunden Mischung aus Ernsthaftigkeit und Witz. Der perfekten Abstimmung zwischen Gassenhauer (für den Fan – Mishaela, Uri, Yuma, Child of Man, Keren Or).

Ich glaube spätestens nach Yuma haben sowieso alle Skeptiker oder alle, die “nur mal sich überraschen” wollten oder eben einfach Noa noch nicht kannten, begriffen, wie genial die Frau ist. Mir ging jedenfalls schon das Herz total auf nach den ersten Tönen, die sie sang. Ich schluchzte vor Rührung, dauergrinste 100 Minuten lang und hatte Tränchen vor Freude in den Augen.

Mir gefielen grundsätzlich jede der Minuten, die auf der Bühne Musik gemacht wurden. Aber besonders die Stücke, wo Noa auch ihre Percussionskünste zeigen konnte, wie bei dem jemenitischen Song auf der “Tin – Cam”. (Im Jemen war es lange Zeit verboten Musik zu machen. Die jüdischen Jemeniten bedienten sich dann leeren Ölkanistern, um darauf zu musizieren.) Gadi Seri und Noa beherrschen die Tin Can in Perfektion. Atemberaubend toll.

Der Mann, der vor mir gesessen hat, war der Gradmesser der Stimmung im Saal für geschätzte 80% des Publikums. Während der ersten halben Stunde war anständiger erwartungsvoller Applaus, dann begann er sich immer mehr rythmischer zu den Songs mit zu bewegen, dann kamen die ein oder anderen Jubeltöne und
Bravorufe und am Ende forderte er wie viele der Besucher Zugaben und reihte sich in die Standing Ovations ein.

Ein wirklich toller Abend … für Noa, ihre Jungs, das Orchester und natürlich alle zahlenden Gäste.

Human Tetris is a classical Rockband in tradition of darker more independent 80s sound. Their sound is like a descendent angel from the good 80s sound. you know?! Even if you don’t know …

I love it.

When I heard them for the first time, I just remembered the very very catchy beats and the absolutely astonishing beautiful voice.

After listening to this … I wanted to hear more of them … and I found a lot of more at the net and was falling desperately in love cuz they didn’t had an album out I could buy … or and they were not on tour.

And you probably think you might have heard such sound before … yeah … as I said before early 80s … anywhere leased from Britain. … BUT I love this Russian edition besides the fact that I never had the chance to see those guys like Joy Division …

Anyway, I think it was two weeks ago when Human Tetris announced that they have finished their album and that they release it for free to the world of music maniacs. I went completely crazy here in the icebrick of Hamburg AND I noticed the fact that Hamburg was on the tour schedule for Europe.

I felt completely in love after listening to it and I was even more happy that I could go to the concert after my long work on Sunday. I was pretty happy to have two of my friends with me, anyway.

So, last Sunday the concert in Hamburg took place at one small bar/restaurant/location called “Aalhaus” in Hamburg Altona. I could walk to the location (besides after getting home from it by walking in the night and with the help of my friends who gave me directions) … I wouldn’t find it again … *lol* … I am kind of disoriented.

The little bar was packed with a great bunch of interessed people … who obviously came by the help of a lot of mouth propaganda.

There was a support … a loving couple that made music called “Magic poetry”. They were kind of cute but I dunno … I think I just liked one song of them and after (10 hours working) I was slightly tired and couldn’t concentrate myself on new things. I just wanted to enjoy HUMAN TETRIS.

They played the most songs I knew before … like this one …

I liked their chilling relaxed attitude on stage. I liked the sound (the soundmix of the support was horrible). The lightning on stage was pretty small anyhow. I did enjoy the moving audience and the moved band. I am very sure they liked it in Hamburg. It was great to listen to some new interpretations of the “oldies” … and I liked their Eurythmics cover. That was fun. Human Tetris is a band you should have seen these days. They really rock. And before I leave you with those extremely non intellectual and just emotional feelings bout HUMAN TETRIS and some videos … I will post another video … of a song from their latest released album …

Besides the fact: Any objective descriptions about their incredible live performance and their music from album cannot be found. I just have to simply nail it down with the words: “A good combination of awesome beats, at least a guitar and very awesome singing – is much love to my ears.”

Susan Cain “Quiet” – The Power of Introverts // Book Review

My sister lately gave me this book (The German edition got released in 2011 – English Edition is released right now). She said “You will maybe find yourself in these lines.” And she was right.

I am that kind of person that is not so fond of having party and putting myself in the spotlight. You know, I am not afraid of people. I really love people. I like smalltalks as well but I desire more the deeply serious talks. I am interested in many things and I love to share this knowledge but I am usually not the person who starts the discussions. I am not the one that wants to do the presentations. There are really many reasons I find not to do. I like to work in a team but I am never the leader. I am usually the creative backup.

And I love to hang around by myself. I never feel bored. I am not feeling really lonely. I am seeking my friends and usually I really care about them. I am a sucker for the quiet moments in my life. So, that doesn’t mean, I wouldn’t go out. But I have absolutely not a problem to get to a concert for myself. I have the best ideas at home alone. I can reproduce them best in a team but I can built them alone best. I need my own time, my own space.

Anyway, I found myself in this book. The book is an hommage to Introverts. It is a very very kind view to those people that usually stand in the second row. It is a book that fights against predjudices. It is a really honest lovestory to introverts that usually have kind of problems in a world that seems to be dominated by extroverts.

It is a book for introverts and for extroverts and for those who don’t know whether they are the one or the other … or more or less a cool mixture.

I am very happy bout that book because I am even more proud now of my concernings how to survive in this extroverts dominated world. I can be proud of myself and it really gave me selfesteem. I have to learn it, definitely. I am thinking too much. Absolutely. But this is not wrong. I learned.

I have been today again at Neuengamme … to take some photographs … but I spent 4 hours again at the Memorial … and visitied another steady exhibition. After being there the second time I just have to say … it is not about “learning what happened there”. It is about “learning or trying to understand how this could happen” … NEVER FORGET.
